I used to listen to Clutch a lot, haven’t met many people who know that band.
Right now it’s more Band of Heathens, Ryan Bingham, and Whiskey Meyers.

In Htown, just got 25% water pressure back today. Finally got all pipes unfrozen last night, power has only gone off a few times today. I’m lucky with no broken pipes. People are filling buckets at our neighborhood pool to flush toilets. Ripped out carpet and Sheetrock at our gym today where a pipe ...

Made 80lb sugarhead on my 110lbs spent Golden Promise grains. Have 3/4 keg of cloudy low wines from the 2 strip runs. Hope to run the spirit run tomorrow because I have 40 gallons of bourbon mash to run also, then sugarhead those grains. I need more aging space! Also wrapped my Kishu mandarin tree t...

Thanks Demy! I have been using Brewfather software for fermenting, but even that is challenging because all of the things made for beer brewing that don’t really apply to what I am using it for. This will help me keep a one-page list of most important info to reflect on months later when I’m actuall...

Scrapped my plan above for today and ran 110 lbs of Golden Promise through my mill and in to convert, just pitched the Kveik starter about 15 min ago. Now I wait... next week should have 70ish gallons of bourbon and single malt to strip and gumball. Then on to another bourbon and a 100% peat malt run.

I'm waiting. Had some of their blue corn spirit this past year. It was okay but didn't knock my socks off. It's good, but not great. Bold toffee, raisins and dried apricot on the nose, roasted apples and pears, wet tobacco, and cinnamon and cloves on the finish. 53% abv from the bottle, a dribble o...

I’ll take a stab... Looks like the same pic was posted twice from my browser view. When I switched to ptfe gaskets on my plates column, the clamps wouldn’t close enough to secure them. I used pliers to squeeze the clamp ends enough to attach the nut. The ptfe gaskets are thicker and less pliable so ...

Welcome, from another Lone Stare noob. It's so ingrained when homebrewing to be extremely sanitary, it was hard for me also, but it get's easier when you eventually scale up. Beer is full volume production from ferment, but distilling is such a small fraction of what you actually ferment so you real...

I have that same barrel, ghost pepper purée, I’ve used it several times just rinsing out and light wipe with Dawn, then rinsed and set out in the sun for a few hours to dry. It was washed when I got it and hasn’t imparted any flavor that I can tell.

Howdy

Howdy everyone, thanks for having me. I have brewed beer for about 25 years, and used to distill years ago before kids. Now getting back into it at a much more grown up level. I'm cheap, but like nice things. I know how to use the search bar and will mostly lurk and read.
