sweet corn

hi
just been offered a job load of frozen sweet corn .
i have a steam juicer and had an idea to run the corn in it then press the corn to get anything left inside
has anyone done this ?
and do you think it would work ?

hi again what a treat ran it and got just under 4 ltr at about 40% ABV of nice smelling and tasting low wines ran down to 10% ABV just to get as much as i could and to think was ready to dump the lot , thanks to you all got another 4 ltrs to add to the 10 ltrs of corn i have already got to do the sp...

start sg was about 1.04 but did not write it down but recall its was going to make about 5% ish
fg is just over 1.01 Temp a bit high about 26c
so looking on a beer chart would say its done
think I am going to run it and see what I get

Hi All did a grain bill of 10kg flaked corn 3 kg malted barley and some h temp amzy corn in bucket hot 60c lots of mixing barley cooked at 65c about 40mins all added to fermenter with 10g high temp amzs mixed every so often stood over night mixed again with a drill mixer popped in a hand full of bre...

put it all back in ran it again with some copper in the slight glass
not to bad now with a little strawberry at the end
let it stand for a time see how it finnishes

note on the loss of spirit that makes sense now after leaving some run in for 12 months and only got a small amount out was thinking i had a leak but could not find any makes on the barrel .

thanks its a new still to me so just playing with it to get to know it 80c temp was at the top of the column was using the new power controler at that temp got nice flow from condenser i was thinking it was the bread yeast cus not used with fruit before but good point more strawberrys less sugar ten...

Hi Just done a strawberry shine 15 kg straws 5 kg sugar bit lemon juice 30 ltrs water bread yeast all went well fermented off in two weeks showed done on hyd way past the green line have done stripping run got a bit of a taste to it (wife think metalic ) i think aniseed not much straw flavor was pot...

Hi to all stillers just after any advice/ help from anyone about conditioning my small oak barrels (2 ltrs and 3ltrs med char ) here goes if I was to fill one with sherry and let it stand for a few months then refill with something else like bourbon (at 60%) would it pull more notes in to the bourbo...

Hi Gents With ref to the molasses it took me an age to find it in the UK in 25kg tubs but find it I did from a catering company BAKO of london and south east look them up was a good price also do loads of other stuff for making a wash not sure if you can buy direct from catering companies in the USA...

Hi Sporacle yer I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to the lower stuff tend to put the stuff below 40% in a jar and put in my next run (so have a jar of real low stuff to put in my next run) will take the next run right down and mix it all together for my spirit run adding backset to the boiler for t...

thank you backset is what I was thinking of sorry for not being clear I have got it in my head that I read somewhere that if you put some backset in with your low wines it can carry over more flavor in your spirit run have checked my notes last night and have done this with a rum i did sometime ago ...
