Re: Electric ball valve with posisioning

For this boka / LM still I concur, do not use a ball valve unless flow rate control is not considered important. The best and least expensive is a needle valve. A 1/4" needle valve is good for up to 6 LPH That all said I would not waste money on automated control unless you have a serious size...

Chucker wrote: Mon Feb 01, 2021 7:12 pm I think the valve tuning parameters may give you fits and a ball valve won’t be linear enough to work very well from an automated standpoint anyway. But I’d also be very curious to know what you come up with and how it works out. Best of luck!
Thanks, I'll keep you updated.

Re: Electric ball valve with posisioning

Yes, now I understand what he means. Well I have a project going on where I am going to logging temperature and I need a ball valve that I can open based on position. None of you have electrically controlled stills?

Re: Electric ball valve with posisioning

How does this work? Is there a signal on how much it is open or closed?
Not sure what you mean by "that you would never try to make cuts by temperature"

Re: Continuous micro still

Yes I also think that 1.5kw will hold in plenty for me. that it comes about 3l per hour finished stripped according to what I have read.
And it takes about 10 minutes and start up.

Re: Continuous micro still

Has no limit on power. Plan to use regular sugar and yeast wash. I'm very unsure of this how everything is done etc, so I ask here if anyone has actually done it before and has a setup that works? I have seen others cool down with the product that goes into the appliance instead of water cooling? Fo...

Continuous micro still

Hi, I wish to build a continuous micro still for stripping and wondering if anyone have drawings for something that is tested and known to work? Or could put me in the right direction to what to do and what not to do. Found this on youtube that i like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIm-qq8p8tE htt...
