I had “ baby puke “ on the first run 13g water, 20 p,corn, 5 p barley 10 p sugar! Now I have added 2g backset, 12p light brown, 10 p sugar, 10 p corn (replacing spent corn) and 4 gallons of water at 140°, 6 g at 100.

Bought some copper mesh on ebay,(I have done this in the past with no problem) while running my still the other day I detected some metallic particles! I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and where do you get your mesh? little bits of copper links or dotted copper particles? bi...

Have you used a magnet to check that it is copper?
They are in the pot when I am done with the run. I use both mesh and 1” pieces of copper in my column.

Copper column packing

Have been reading this forum for about three years and have learned a lot. Been distilling for three years and mostly do corn and barley recipes. Thanks for having me!
