Learning how to walk again. Inside is fine. The outdoors with uneven ground is a bit challenging with sticks.

I use liquid enzymes. Extremely active. Thins the concrete out in seconds

I use 25kgs corn meal (flour) And 10 kgs fine grind roll steamed oats.
140 L water and enzymes

Makes a smooth vodka and gin base.

For future reference when stripping for whisky I'd go lower than 40%. I tend to aim for 25% in the pot. You carry over a bit more flavour and if you're double distilling on a pot still then your final blend will come out pretty close to barrel proof without needing lots of water to proof it down. L...

My ratios
35 kgs grain
110 litres water
Yields 30 to 45 litres in strips
30 litres into spirit run
10 to 11 litres product at 62 to 65 %

Tried to find the thread about rats being chucked into rum mashes but failed.

Margaret has a canary if there is weavils and bugs in my mash. I just don't tell her. Else she'd make me sift it all.

I've been looking for a stainless 55 gal drum to use as a fermenter for quite some time. I stumbled on a fellow selling 2 of these 200L jacketed tanks for $400 each. He was going to give them both to me for $650, but I could only fit one in my small truck, and it was too long of a drive to go back ...

Make more until you enough to age at least a year.
Having said that, mine are whiskey - bourbon ish at 6 to 8 months

Well - just an update after sitting on Oak for 7 months - and my drinking stock was gone - i proofed this down to 43% The chocolatey / caramelly smell still there - but reduced Taste - I like it. No bite and quite nice on mouthfeel. I have another one still aging in glass with the same oak treatment...
