Re: Oyster shell vs egg shell

I doubt any source of CC is pure CC, read the whole thread. I don't use egg shell because I have better options easily available, not because it isn't 'pure CC'. My current sugar wash ferment has no CC in it and I won't add whole shells from my local beach, or any other form of CC, unless the pH st...

Do you mean egg shell is 100% calcium carbonate. If it is so you are right and no need to worry about it is boiled or not.

Re: Oyster shell vs egg shell

Can we use the shells of boiled eggs? Is there a difference between a boiled egg shell and any other egg shell ? I suspect that the main difference is that one is cleaner than the other. I am not sure whether the calcium carbonate dissolves in water while boiling the egg. If it's so maybe nothing l...

Re: General atmosphere of forum

Come on guys dont be so sensitive. Old boys can be tough sometimes. I see this as a pay back for what i get from them. If somebody complains when we push a little hard while playing football we say "come on this is a men's game, dont cry like little girl". So moonshine is a men's hobby. An...

Re: Ferm-Solutions Enzymes

I used corn flour in the mash instead of flakes and fermenting now without seperating the corn. But it was not possible to measure the OG since the mash was so dense. Is there a way to measure the OG without seperating the corn? I am using hydrometer Usually within a couple of hours I have some lar...

Re: Attempting to desalinate seawater

I'm in the same boat you are, as far as seawater desalination (and swamp water purification), and came here for some cooling idea. The other poster said look into solar issues but that only works when the sun shines, isn't practical for very large amounts of water in a shorter time, making fresh dr...

Re: Basic Distillation Calculator App

I would suggest to add a new module to your app @montersX if you ofcourse aggree with. When you work with all grain mash specific gravity comes out to be low sometimes and you need to add sugar to increase it to desired value. I preapared something in excel to calculate the amount of sugar to be add...

Hi to all!

Hi to everybody. My name is Haldun and i live in Turkey. I've been making so many different alcoholic beverages (wine, beer, raki, whisky, liqueurs...) in last 10 years. I do not drink so much but its like an hobby for me. I started to distill my own spirit for last 5 years with the column type dist...
