Yeah. Tumeric flowers,Jamaica, pumpkin flowers, coconut flower, skin of a mango, tamarindo fruit which would over power being boiled. For you, chicken that has been marinaded in a strong mole. Things that offer a scent rather than flavor. That fat from the chicken doesn't need to fall back into the boi...

There are some screened bins the use for smoking at AliExpress that would fit your 4". Popping open the top of a Carter head takes but a second to install your basket. There are too many nice things that boiling ruin not to use your Carter head.

Is 0.1-0.5 bar going to open before the contents of the Thumper gets sucked back to the boiler ? The 1/2" Eastman I was able to open with my lungs. No clue what it is officially rated at. I figure that should work. I also have a liquid manometer, a 0-3 psi guage for my boiler and a 0-15 psi gu...

I used triclamps and bought a bunch of 2" copper elbows. I made a few sections using 2" pipe all the way. That way I can play with the angles up or down on my lyne arms. This also always easy hookup to the thumper. The circle with the half line thru it, what is it? I bought my elbows here,...

I picked up a 1/2" Eastman and a 3/4" Watt vacuum breaker on Amazon for 22 bucks delivered. They both look like this one.

I'm up in California just walked out of a stress test after my ultrasound for my heart. What a day, I had a breakfast Jack and then after my test they make you drink a coke for the caffeine that counteracts the speed they injected in me. If I live that long it will be another 20 years before I go to...

I have a 4' of 1 1/2" over a 1" pipe. I added strips of cut up copper pipe from the 1". I sliced the pipe in thirds so they were about 7/16" x 1.5" . I then soldered them around the pipe. As I slide the 1" into the other I pulled the tangs up until they scraped their wa...

I've lost muscle tone and can stick my arm in a 4" ferrule but just so. I decided to use that on my steam gen and 2nd thumper. I bought 6" instead, although most here will say it's not really needed. Another consideration before you get to welding would be putting a 2" ferrule on the t...

@Dalein I'm in cane country where I thought I had the best prices. Here there is no way I can get panocha cheaper then blackstrap looking at weight of sugars. I have a person here I've been watching who buys agriculture grade melaza dirt cheap. By the time he has heated the melaza to remove sediment...

You could run some old feints thru to wash out the oils. A Liebig type of condenser would be easier to clean.

Unless you're dedicating that to certain oils I would make sure you can get into the keg to clean it well between oil runs.

We have Neem trees on the ranch,I've noticed it is quite bitter. I would peel some pears and soak the peels for a few days and taste it. I would worry more about the taste than the harm to your body.

Might read up on fermenting 14% mash for a lower % and reading on essential oils and cleaning. I'll bet if you like gins and oils you will dedicate this still for that. It is pretty.

With going 2" on your column you have to ask yourself what is your time worth. 2 runs a year it doesn't really matter. With a 3 inch column you could almost save enough time to watch a football game. I would look for a cheap keg you could grow into. This site might help you save enough to chang...

I am building up supplies for a bunch of rum washes and some neutrals. Whiskey is going to cost me 16 bucks per liter to make.Thats more than Very Old Barton delivered. So I need to play with melaza and panocha first as it is more affordable.

Thank you for that tip. I plan to bottle all my products at 54% . A chemist I know from another field who admits he knows nothing of ethanol distillation suggest I look for studies using stearic acid to stabilize the esters. When I have time I'll do that and look at the perfume industry. They pay a ...

That l have read, thank you. I am putting up yeast strains in the freezer. If I can store yeast there then use it I can't see a problem with dead yeast mixed with some zinc and the B's bits in the freezer. But I figure there must be some yeast that breeds like rabbits. If not I get the cheapest.

Looking for a food grade ester stabilizer
Know of any? I have read about them in the medical and plastic industry, but I found nothing for the food industry. I'm bad at putting the best form of a question to Google. There must be some additive they put in food to stop the reverse. I've seen hints of zinc and sulfuric acid mentioned in other...

I was wondering that since panocha and molasses has the same sugar structure ,if I could ferment separate batches of molasses and panocha then blend them. Or do they need to be fermented together at different ratios to figure out what I like. From what I read I seem to lean towards getting 40% of my...
