Btw, does the worm actually age tequila? I would be very surprised if that was the case. I simply thought the worm dropped in was some "marketing" gimmick. The worm does infuse some flavors which then mature with the tequila or mezcal. The worm adds a slightly sweet nutty and spicey flavo...

Green Rim

This time around I didn't just get green rim, but the whole batch has a green to black color when poured in a glass. In the bottle the color looks dark wine red, but poured it is definately green.

ALC/VOL measurement

I have recently noticed that my measurements of alc/vol are off after the addition of sugars. I am theorizing that this must be due to the relative density of the sugar which makes the alcohol measure lower than it really is.

I was aging it on a rum. Woods were cut green then immediatedly roasted. This carmelized the sap giving an extra bump to the flavor.

I have had great luck with mustang grape vine as well as vine wood fron Ca. Not as distinct a flavor as applewood. But a half teaspoon of brown sugar per liter brought out more of the grape flavor.

I have used whole beans, but that is too rich. Best results were from a 2 inch section.
