Re: My own TV show
Goinbroke2, my bottles come from Mexico, so no two of them are the same size, so I fill each bottle to a level. There is an overflow on the fill nozzle so each bottle is filled to the same height. The Feds don’t like this, and if I filled 12,000 per hour they would make me stop, but I only fill 12,0...

Well guys the old fart in the show is me, the guy doing all the talking is my partner, he is a partner only in name. I wasn’t going to post the address of the TV show, because it turned out to be a big farce. We shot video for ten hours, and this is what they decided to put on the show, my partner h...

Lunabrille, that's not me in the picture, but that is me talking, - you know the one with the Bill Clinton Voice. Husker, I don't think any amount of TV could make me look good. My mom used to say "you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear." My friends have started calling me TICKLE, I'm not sur...

My own TV show
Well, I’ve finally made it to TV. The state public television station here in Nebraska has done a story on me and my operation. It won’t be a moonshiner show like the one currently being shown, just me making vodka. Any one living in or near Nebraska – tune in to NET on Sunday night the 13th. I have...

Just got off the phone with a friend who lives in Northern Minnesota. She said since early this morning the snow has been nearly waist high and is still falling. The temperature is dropping way below zero and the north wind is increasing to near gale force. Her husband has done nothing but look thro...

Re: The most expensive single Malt in the world
I'm doing my share -- I have an eight gallon keg full, I think I filled it about four years ago. Every morning I sbake and roll the barrel, so by the time I die it should be about ready for any and all to enjoy. Told my wife to have a party for me, and see to it everyone gets their fill. I have abou...

Re: Became a 'real' home owner today
Husker, I noticed every time we talk your looking at my gold tooth. Damm, I'm going to be afraid to go to sleep around you. Really, it is a great feeling to own ones own home, but in my case the property taxes are $4,000.00 per year, so that means it costs me over $350.00 per month to live in my own...

I’ll share some things that I have learned over the past three or four years. Second, I wanted to hold down the retail price of...

AGEING WITH SPIRALS
Some time back I bought a couple infusion spirals, they were each about eight inches long, one was dark toast, the other medium toast. I put them in a gallon jug about two thirds full of UJSM, that tested 130 proof. I always cover the top of the jugs with paper towel and a rubber band to keep the cr...

As soon as I grew old enough to leave this frozen world of mid-America, I moved to southern Cal. Live there all my adult life. Re: Getting into all grain beer
Scotty,
When making whiskey mash, we cook corn to get the starch out of the kernel, then add malted barely to convert the starch to sugar. We then ferment the sugar to make our hutch. My question is would this same process work making beer?? Thanks for you response.

Re: Getting into all grain beer
I’ve been wondering if anyone has tried mashing with unmalted barley as a base grain, and adding malted barley during the mash for conversion??? With the price of malt being a little over $1.00 USD, and the price of unmalted barley around .15 cents, this would lower the price considerably. In theory...

Ya know a way around this "no tell policy" is to spend your life savings getting a license, then keep thowing good money after bad to keep the doors open. Re: opening a legal distillery in the U.S.
GoinBroke2, That sounds like a neat idea, putting a still on a trailer, but I think you had better check with the TTB before you make any big plans. In my case, if i move a still from one building to another I have to re-register the still. You can't just move things around even in your own facility...
