Re: Scotch - what not to do

I notice there aren't any tried-and-true recipes for Scotch, so I was flying blind here. Perhaps others have had a similar experience? Scotch is a Malted Barley Whiskey make in Scotland. It's called Single Malt as only one grain is used. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_malt_whisky" onclick="wi...

Check out the book "Fire Water: Experimental Smoked Whiskeys". It has a ton of info on what flavors come over from each wood. And for those without a dedicated smoker you can set up something like this: http://smokedaddyinc.com/products/cold-smokers/smoke-generators/item/5-big-kahuna.html" onclick="...

I didn't realize that it was a two piece thing and I only was twisting the outside part of the display - now it's totally reading wrong. I t...

Hello from Pittsburgh

Hi all - Checking in from Pgh. Interested in mostly whiskey. Long time lurker. I'm a big reader, I have small library of old and new books on distilling. I've done some beer homebrewing but never got into in. Distilling though has me. Love it. I have a 5 gallon copper alembic still. Wish I had a big...
