This mash yielded .5 gallon @90p with a 100ml cut off the front end on the strip.a teaspoon off the tap tasted like sweet creamy buttery oatmeal with likker in it.I like!! Cant wait to see if I can replicate the flavor but with a bit higher conversion I'm doing it on grain this time too

Yeah man so far I've got a gallon peated enough for a gallon of gin a gallon of vodka and I'm bout ready to put up enough mash for another 4 gallon spirit so no friends buddies brothers coming over kicking it this winter I'm taking my second year in the craft a bit more serious as in putting up aged...

Both my peat smoked gallons are 90 proof this whole adventure into peat is turning out swell.its got me thinking of smoking my own grain here and there ill be spirit running this tomorrow or friday.I use "sweet" water(spring water) when diluting low wines and distilled for proofing.I'm going to age ...

Ok so I used a pound of peated barley malt with some 12 pounds lme the smell and carryover flavor is very strong ashtray/dirty socks grungy I stripped 2 runs and they both have the same characters I'm going to add them2gallon low wines to some 2 gallon 6 row corn oat lowines for a spirit run and age...

Ok I didnt steam inject but I did use a pound peated malt in a mash ive never made something before with this aroma and flavor.definetly will be introducing this backset into future corn mashes now I understand a tiny bit more about islay style drink

So my lme+ peated malt finished I ran it and was thrown off by the peat smell as I'd never used peat once I figured out what the smell was I stopped freaking out I ran one batch to 90 proof have one more strip of it today then its gonna be spirit run time

Ive had good squirrel the little shit smelled like burnt hair and looked like pork rinds in spots my two husky ladies were in a tug o war almost had to whip them to let go!! Happens maybe 3 or 4 times a year here

So going back thru the thread I should have done things differently should of added the ht enzymes mixed a bunch and rested 3or 4 hours. Then added my gl and visco seb and waited overnight. I found that one too and I came up to a 1050 so I still have room for improvement I think next time ill ferment on grain and rest overnight and all. Hell for no malted grain I'm happy prolly should of reversed my grain bill

Ok so my first try with liquid enzymes is underway...8 gallon water 19 pounds grain.40 minutes away from another stir and addition of second stage enzyme will post more as it goes along.oh I used 8 pound re ground cracked corn and 11 pounds oats

Used up my Lme finally 7 gallon batch 12.12 lb plus 1 lb peated malt 1066 was my start never used us05 so I used 1 11.5g sachet and a few grams of dady. Dunno if I want to strip this or run it once with packed column

Ok in the middle of my roof and my air compressor shit the bed tried cleaning contact points cleaned solenoid deal. Lame I tapped I'm assuming a solenoid with the ole hammer ans it worked for a bit but died feels like I'm dead in the water here
