Re: SBB's All Molasses Rum Recipe

The recipe tells you what to do for the first ferment when you have no dunder. If you do use AG dunder i cant vouch for what it might taste like. That is your choice though. Thanks sb I'll follow the recipe but one more? How much b vitamin should I use on a 25 gallon ferment and is this gonna foam ...

NZChris wrote: Sun Mar 21, 2021 12:21 pm It'll work, but do you mind a hint of barley in your rum?

I've started a rum series by using backset to get a single stripping run worth of wash and make dunder for the next, much larger, ferment. That worked out ok.
Thanks nz

Temps stabilized at 205 for the pot, and 200 up top. Steady stream runs began at an astounding (for me) 1000ml in 11 minutes at 50% ABV. Much fa...

Do you know the brix content? How much you use per ferment will depend on the sugar content. Typically, feed grade molasses runs about 80 brix +/- and weighs roughly 12 to 12-1/2 pounds per gallon. Still, you got a great deal....molasses for a buck a pound, or less. How much did you have to pay for...
