My bourbon and whiskeys were deliciuos. Not a flavorful, or estery yeast as far as I could tell. Pretty neutral. The yeast takes a back seat to the grains.
Pretty expensive for a neutral result? Or not?

The gnats in my shed seem to die happy, though. I swear I've seen gnat panties or something near my heads jar. Had two blowflies actually fly into my foreshots last week...looked like they were flying in the liquid. For a second...

Re: White coating on SS pot, with white particles in distillate

I realize this is a ridiculously old thread, but happened upon it. I too get a residue and even almost a crystallization in the residual after boiling large quantities of water for mashing. I use Missouri well water with extraordinarily high calcium. I think I could possibly get stalactites on the l...

Re: Do Rye and Wheat mix?

A couple of years back, I did separate ferments for Corn, Barley, Rye and Wheat. I stripped them all and then blended the low wines to make various 'mash bills'. Made many different combinations which I then used in separate spirit runs after a short marrying period. I ended up with left overs of t...

The "industrial" plants have staffing issues. I think the smaller slaughterhouses have been overwhelmed by "panic buyers" of sorts. Certainly no shortage of cattle here, pains me to hear of CAFOs liquidating stock because they can't get them processed....

Hambone » Tue Jul 28, 2020 11:20 am A bigger product condenser decreases the flow that is required. It decreases the flow but not the amount of heat that needs to be removed from the distillate. In closed system recycling water the water will end up the same temp what ever size the condenser. True....
