coper scrubers I found in pak & save here in New Zealand are marked copper / zink alloy so I went with the stainless Stainless were far cheaper to budget brand $1.75 for 2

On my new setup my tower just slots into a brass fitting at the top of my boiler. I made a copper plate drilled with lots of 3/16th holes which just sits between the tower and boiler. I use stainles scrubbers which actualy tend to stay up in the 2" column anyway Probably just as well as just lo...

Just what I am about to do now 5.am here and only got my new still up and running this afternoon. Did a staem / water run then started a 50 litre suger mash run but cant keep the peepers open any longer :( Seems to be working well to :)

no problem with distilled water. You do own a distiller dont you? :) Just be carefull you dont let it get too low We have burnt out two elements so far distilling water :(

yes saw some today at shop $10.50 for about 27" long by around 1/8th of an inch maybe smaller diameter even. sold by weight 35% silver they do other percantages to. higher the silver content the dearer the rod

I could probably get the gun only sent from the states and have to buy the $20 cannisters of gas here as I think there would be a hassle to get compressed gas sent air freight as they will even take a second cigarette lighter off you on passing through customs at the airport

not much of an option for me at the moment as the price of mapp gas sets here are $140 nz and thats with only one bottle extra bottles are $20

bazing and soldering?

What equipment are you all using for braising or soldering. I have been trying to use an old kerosene blowtorch without any success. :( Also tryed the old heavy soldering iron heated by this blowtoch as well for soldering. Am hoping not to have go to oxy/acetylene :(
