I was headed to see him Sunday. I don't think he is out on bond yet. When you thumb your nose to many times in the Mans (Law)face it will bit you in the ass. Age and bad health will keep him from doing too much time but I think he should retire before it gets worse.

I didn't build the adapter and cap. I used stillmaker (middle Tennessee)who made my 40gal copper pot. I told him how high and how long and he did the rest. You can use Pintoshines pattern to make cape.Im too wound up to do small delicate things but I swing a mean hammer in the forge. The pot is Polar...

My stainless brew pot change!!

I removed the tower from my 10 gal brew pot and added a stainless collar and copper cap with 28 inch arm. I used stainless screws and cork gasket. Using the flux Pintoshine likes I soldered up top. Went really well [URL=http://allyoucanupload.webshots.com/v/2006342589136781482][img]http://aycu18.web...

Thanks Guys. This is a mixed grain/sugar mash. I keep it air tight with airlock installed. I have never stirred and try not to open to often but older guys laugh and say stirr and lightly cover to keep critters out.

To stir or not stir!!!

I was taught to not mess with your mash after you pitched your yeast. Old timmers tell me stir everyday till its ready. I searched past notes from the mother ship and never found yes or no. This is after yeasting not before or durring and not a sour mash run. Any ideas good or bad?

SBR (styrene butadiene rubber)

Since some of you guys are pretty smart on the chemical stuff, can a man use grommets made of SBR (styrene butadiene rubber) and not effect hooch flavor? What about rubber plugs of same material? Tell me what you think.

This is style I use. Sure it cranks up to be a bad boy but you can run it low as you need. It will get you from little still to big without buying new equipment. Thumper Pipe Size

Ok fellow's I have new 40 gallon pot still. What is your opion of pipe size into thumper keg. I know some don't like thumpers and rather go straight to coil. But if you did what would you do for that size into and out of!. On 10 gallon pot I use 1" in and 5/8 out which I feel is overkill. Lets ...

In Tennessee you can own or sell a still for ethanol. You have to be able to give any names of buyers if asked. It took me 1 week to get a license to make Ethanol in my back yard. This means I can have still in public veiw at all times but I must render all hooch undrinkable and be able to produce r...
