Re: Quick question Electic boiler

If you're running 110, why not just use the router speed controller? Yes, you could run without, but you can't control it.

Re: Pugi's Rum or "Pugirum"

If you just pitched yeast, I would think you could invert your sugar in a small amount of water, allow it to cool and add.

No. From what I make. I do the pugi rum. For volume purposes, I would bump it up some if I were you. Just my opinion. There are much more highly skilled people here that may have different views.

Seems low to me. I typically push my og up around 1.09. It'll make, just won't get much out of it.

I'll be doing a stripping run this weekend using molasses straight from the sugar mill. Can't wait for the spirit run. The wash smells like heaven.

Re: Keg still design questions

I run a 120 setup using a router speed controller. I drive a 1650 watt 120 element with it and use a 220 4500 wired 120 during heat up. Check the link below for instructions.

Prairiepiss has an excellent thread on this setup. He uses a router speed controller. Search his threads or just search for router speed controller. I'm actually in the process over converting as we speak.

Sounds nearly finished. Give it a couple days, rack it, let it set a couple more to clear. Then, rack into boiler and run it. Keep us posted. I'd like to hear the results using the bananas. Just make proper cuts.

stalled rum wash from infection

My wash stalled and I'm pretty sure it's because it got infected. Would I be safe to take this and boil, rack off and reuse? Or should I just scrap and start over? Just hated to waste 1.5 gallons of good molasses. Also what should I clean my plastic fermenter with? Been using just plain hot water, b...

Re: mold in ferment

Yes, it was a white mold. Once I pitched the yeast, it took off like a rocket. This morning it is bubbling very hard. As long as it's not harmful, I think it will be ok and ferment out fine.
