Depends how much you want to make and how often , but LWTCS ( Larry) has some pretty cool diagrams of a Continuous stripping still that can be bought off the shelf Iff’n making it your self isn’t part of your skill set.

Re: Retrofit my direct fired brew rig, or build electric boiler?

+1 Setsumi .

Leave your brewing rig as is . You’ll need it for whisky .

Get a seperate Still setup .

And the temp thing . ... again what Setsumi said . ... get a power controller , Temp controllers are useless in distilling .

I'm very unsure of this how everything is done etc, so I ask here if anyone has actually done it before and has a setup that works? Have you had a look in the continuous stripping still section of the form ( where you posted this thread)? There a several of us that have got them to work ( not the m...

Tdick , whats the ramifications of having the TM symbol on the “Just Run it” tee shirt ?

Do you need to have it legally logged as a Trade Mark to have that on it ?

It looks cool , just curious about it .

Like Zed said , make sure you are using the right SSR

The one you need will say SSR 40 DA or SSR 25 DA

If you use the pot type SSR 40 VR or SSR 25 VR ( Some times labled SSR 40 VA or SSR 25 VA )

Smoke will come out .

Don’t think I mentioned this but I do have a tri clamp lid to make this a pot still when needed, just though I’d throw this out here. Don’t do that . Boom If you still have the Valve shut , you’ll blow yourself up . Re: the Boka https://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36050#p7048061

You will be better off with the extra packing height than sacrificing it to make a new plate section .
If you can get a small piece of 2” to make a new section then you might consider it .
