Re: Retrofit my direct fired brew rig, or build electric boiler?
+1 Setsumi .
Leave your brewing rig as is . You’ll need it for whisky .
Get a seperate Still setup .
And the temp thing . ... again what Setsumi said . ... get a power controller , Temp controllers are useless in distilling .

Have you had a look in the continuous stripping still section of the form ( where you posted this thread)? There a several of us that have got them to work ( not the m...

Tdick , whats the ramifications of having the TM symbol on the “Just Run it” tee shirt ?
Do you need to have it legally logged as a Trade Mark to have that on it ?
It looks cool , just curious about it .

This is the one you need . Sounds like you already have it .?? F5476A56-618B-4F6B-B567-0B234564E1D2.jpeg It says 3-32v on the pins 3 and 4 . I also invert sugar . I figure that seeing I need to add hot water to raise initial wash temp ,and most sugar recipes add a little citric acid , why not kill two birds with one stone also making dissolving the sugar really easy . I am beginning to suspect I get a lower heads cut too . Take the gate valve out if you must use your VM for stripping . Accidents can happen and if you have it closed , you know what will happen .

This one
The one you need will say SSR 40 DA or SSR 25 DA
If you use the pot type SSR 40 VR or SSR 25 VR ( Some times labled SSR 40 VA or SSR 25 VA )
Smoke will come out .

Don’t think I mentioned this but I do have a tri clamp lid to make this a pot still when needed, just though I’d throw this out here. Don’t do that . Boom If you still have the Valve shut , you’ll blow yourself up . Re: the Boka https://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36050#p7048061

You will be better off with the extra packing height than sacrificing it to make a new plate section .
If you can get a small piece of 2” to make a new section then you might consider it .
