Re: Sweet Corn is a Lie.
Let's look at these calculations from a different perspective. It cost me about 35 cents to drive to my local feed store and buy 200lb of cracked corn for a batch big enough to fill a 5 gal barrel. Not sure of the price of corn right now so we won't go there. This doesn't seem to make much sense as ...

I just leave my barrels bung up. No need to turn a barrel really. When you emptied it after soaking where there a lot of charred bits?

Re: Suggestions for a pump for a 1/4" coil
Perhaps considering a typical Marine grade RV wash down pump. The only drawback to this pump is the 12v requirement. Look at this on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=321680870736&globalID=EBAY-US" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel...

I would love to have some snow. It was 95 and humid to day. One can only remove so much clothing till people start getting offended.. I hear ya! Last night I'm thinking, sure feels warm in the house. Turned the thermostat from 73 to 72. Ambient temp climbed to 75. Walked out to look at the compress...

I've considered steam for quite a while before settling on an oil medium. In the end temperature control was the deciding factor.

I have a boiler similar to yours that I'm getting ready to modify. I've had the elements for a while now and have recently received the ferrule assemblies. I'll cut and install these ferrules into the jacket and drill the caps to accept the elements. The elements are 3Kw and fit well into a 6" f...

The dentures never did feel right, there is an extra tooth on one side that gags me when I talk. So as long as I keep my mouth shut, it's all good. I have the same problem. Same in it not bothering me if I don't talk. I think my wife had that tooth added as pay back for the extra stitches I request...

Re: why are electric controllers so expensive?
Look at Auber instruments. You can put together a smokin controller using all of their components with exception of the power cord, plug and spray paint (if you desire a color other than black) for about $130. They sell different size enclosure kits that go together really fast and Auber provides al...

Don't get me wrong. GTAW certainly offers a cleaner weld and in a sanitary application or another application where ascetic or high quality requirements would be mandatory I would say it's got it's place. If you're set up with a tig welder at your disposal that makes it much more convenient. The req...

It's an inner shield wire. There's really no need to purge as the welds will be fillet welds. This isn't a pressure application by any means. I'll be using oil as a heating medium in the jacket.

I'm getting ready to cut in several ferrules on my kettle. I'll be using SS FCAW. Small diameter wire .030 or .035. These ferrules will house my heating elements. As stated above, GTAW is the way to go, second best option in my opinion is wire; solid or flux core. Those trusty little Lincoln wire we...

Changing your exhaust to a 12v marine application (a simple marine blower) would alleviate rads worries.
I'm more interested in Capt Tillers post though. So are you saying you are using several oak barrels for infused spirits or stainless kegs?

Got 4 6" ferrules, gaskets, caps and clamps for $270 shipped. I wish it were less so I could really feel like it was a smokin deal but it was the least expensive of any else I've found. That being said, I think it was a good deal.
