I just got a new neutral yeast to try and 50 pounds of rice plus some distillers malt as soon as I can make room in the fermenters I’ll try that, what yeast did you use some lager type yeasts put out sulfur, so do some bacterial infections

We had the Midwest get together recently, I took a leap of faith and had a few members here to my lake house without meeting them I will say it was an amazing time with great people and we learned a lot from each other those meetings are great for the hobby

You could do a mini mash buy heating up some water to about 150 and putting the grain in a small bag to steep remove the bag after about 45 min then add the liquid malt to that, cool and pitch yeast

I have used a few conversion kits and in my opinion the still dragon element mount is about as nice as they get. A good stainless 5500 watt element ( brewing suppliers and amazon have those) plus a controller will get you going. Lots of good conrtroller info here in this site,

Should be fine rack the clear and leave whatever settled out at the bottom the fermentor

i cut the whole bottom out and put it in another bucket, I will take a better picture of the 2X4 mount we made. it took 5 minutes with a jig saw

I was looking for a duct reducer but I saw the water bottle in the shop and just went with it, glad I did the mill works great with a couple minor tweaks. Saved me a some money on the electric one that’s talked about here
