My son is a beginning contracter. Have been talking to him of useing only ground source geothermal heat pumps as it cuts costs to run so dramatically and almost free with tax credits.
So an additional line down the same ditch, giveing off some heat, the condensor line, next to the heating line grabbing all the heat it can get and cooling the condesor line- perfection. Only problem would be the collection vessel would be out there somewhere, and you would have to moniter it for cuts unless just a stripping run. No water issues though. This could work even without the geothermal heat pumps. A constant cooling temp. with a slight downhill slope. Perfection.
Heck, top of the ground in winter. Just a bit of pipe.
