I visited a craft distillery this weekend and I was looking at their still set up and noticed that the pot went straight to the condenser with no thumper. At the tasting I asked the owner how many times his product is distilled and went on to tell me that he designed his stills to be more productive than a 12 plate reflux on a single run (He only distills his product once). He is getting
His column goes up at a steep angle when leaving the pot and goes 10-12' before it dropped into his condenser.
This goes against what I have read on here as far as ABV from a Pot Vs Reflux. Here is a pic of his still that I found online.

You can get pretty high numbers running a pot still very slow with a high (45-50%) charge in the boiler. Not quite as high as a good reflux though.
yip,that is true... BUT i doubt you will get 12 plates

Correct, I get about 85% max and certainly not throughout the run.
