The bloody spanish dancer seems to be becoming more and more prevalent. Good luck with it GP.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rage at close of day,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in the green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on that sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

I did some research. GP joined us November 3, 2005. He made 354 posts. His last post was to his own recipe thread. I hope lots of folks will make it their next batch in honor of GP.

I have about 15 ml of a sample he sent me a year or two back--I think it's going down the hatch in tribute tonight. Rest well, Cliff.

I'm a fair youngster to the forum, though old as the hills. i do look forward to finally meeting him, and sitting under a spreading oak, and shareing our love. Wish I could send all of you a taste back. The angels have had their share of the best ever produced, and with thier knowledge we will be in total heaven. Sure wish we could send some back to you poor beginners.

An eloquent gentleman that served most wonderfully as a link from modern illicit distillation to the traditional moonshiner in all his independent glory, wrapped in the history and the tradition of his trade, a final bastion against big brother stretching from the moonshine wars of Pennsylvania to the demise of the Golden Pond as the dammed waters of the Kentucky and the Cumberland rivers slowly covered a way of life that will be no more. Go peacefully my friend, you have fought the good fight. Hold your head high as you walk into that final, bright light. We, your friends and admirers salute you. All hail, he goeth before us, a moonshine man!

If I or any one else here could have or deserve an eulogy like that, then I am ready to head to my new still up there. I will learn from him first hand . We will have more drunken angels than the rest of you boys down here. Better behave yourselves, or we will send them to collect all you make.

Thank you to both Transplanted Hillbilly and mtnwalker2. I did not get to meet Clint, but we had exchanged private messages while he was active on the board and thanks to Tater, I called and talked with him after his illness came back. Unfortunately, the last few times I hadn't been able to get him on the phone. I thought he was a heck of a nice guy. For me, he will be missed. I had wanted to go visit but live on the other end of the state and just didn't make it. I'm sorry for that.

Damn I hate to hear that. We used to private email after we met on the forum. He was a nice country gentleman for sure. Sent me pics of his still and answered lots of question.

I have been sending emails to his old email address on and off since early 2007, no reply. Now I know why. :(

He told me about his jaw surgery but then we lost contact. Guess he died of that huh?

Glad I got back here.

I did not know he had passed. Just 5 or so days ago I decided to try my hand at real moonshine, found his recipe, and am using it with a modification. I am using Wino's ingredient. However, I added no store bought yeast. I am letting the wild yeast do its thing. It has been fermenting for the last two days.

I dedicate this batch to him. Rest in peace Golden Pond.
