Keeping the SOH Happy

Post by Oldvine Zin » Mon Oct 26, 2020 8:40 pm

So since my industry is dead and haven't worked a real job since last March I've been spending most of my time doing home repairs that should of been done 30 years ago, painting and interior wood trim installation. Well the SOH stated that she always wanted rain chains instead of the down spouts, checked out the prices of them and found out that a 10 foot section will set you back 150$ for the cheap ones.
\
She said well with all that copper that you claim to make, make it happen. so ...

I love going out and watching the rain chain when a big shower hits. They are beautiful. :-).

Weight is an issue for sure, so be sure your gutter is secured well.

Inspired by my rain chain I made a few fine copper spirit chains for use on my RC to direct reflux past my VM port & thermometer and to center liquid reflux on my packing.

It's solid wire and not so thick, US measurements is 8 gauge about 1/8 " thick, wrapped around a 1 " copper tube gives me about 3' of chain per 12' of wire. At the big box store 50' cost me $22.
Just finished the first 13' chain now 5 more to go, what we will do to keep her happy.

Got chains in front of the house where they are on view..

They do look a hell of a lot better than plastic pipes.

My lady has been poorly for a few days.

But she is really improving. Getting feisty again.
