Hello to everyone,
I have a question to the friends who have been making Gin for many years among you, if I tell you after so much experience, what do you think should be the 6 botanicals that are indispensable for a good tasting bold gin?
And would you prefer Vapour infusion or herbs in the boiler ?

I know Gin is very tasty but I think you're aiming a little high if you're trying to get to climax with it
Joking aside, generally the major botanicals are Juniper, coriander seed and angelica root. Then whatever else you fancy if you're going in a certain taste direction.

Many of my gins are based on what is locally available, in season. If you want your gin to be special, have a story to tell when you serve it to your friends.
Re: Climax Gin
Hi NZChris nice to see you again, I remember you said that putting the botanicals in a muslin bag in the vapor path could create some degree of reflux so how do you do it do you have a dedicated gin basket for it ?
Re: Climax Gin
My minis can be run with everything in the boiler, everything in a basket, some in each, and can also be run as a Carter Head where nothing can reflux back into the boiler. I don't think I have a preference. I just use the configuration I think I need for the style of gin I'm making on the day.

Agreed again
Two post in a row.
I really like the idea of seasonal stilling
Brewers do the same.
Foraging etc gives you brew a story
its better to think like a fool but keep your mouth shut, then to open ur mouth and have it confirmed
