Apple Pie Brandy/Whiskey

Post by sttifyd35 »

Hi guys! Im interested in doing an apple pie brandy/whiskey. Im going to do a corn mash. When it comes down to running it, i was going to use 2 thump kegs. One will have some of the wash with cut up apples, the other some of the wash with cinnamon sticks. My second idea would be to distill a hard cider instead of corn and do essentially the same process. Any thoughts of experiences?

Well, the cider has not too much to do with the corn mash. The cider's riches are close to its heads so, you should use the proper methods for fruit wines stilling. Haven't you got any reflux column, like boka etc?

And... what would you like to get for both your nose&mouth? Double stilled cider is called 'calvados' and not whiskey. But it's better being set 3+ years in a good oak jail... So, wut's your target, please?
