Mud pie cookie recipe...

Post by goinbroke2 »

Wife was making mud pie cookies and something went wrong. She was so mad she was going to throw it all in the garbage but I stopped her.

2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup margarine
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups of oatmeal
1 cup coconut
5 tablespoons of cocoa
Sprinkle of salt

So I grabbed it and threw it in a 30 L bucket.
Added another bag of sugar and the rest of the bag she was using. I figured with the 2 cups already in it, it would be 2 bags which is around 11-12%
Topped up with 100* water.
Put way more bread yeast than was required but I wanted to be sure.

Let ‘er eat!!!

Let us know how it turns out! When I saw the title and started reading the recipe I figured I was going to move the thread to the favorite food recipe section until I got to the part about distilling.

Still fermenting, still smells like chocolate.
Very fine bubbles though.

Lol, just remembered about this as I’m trying another “new” thing.
It’s done, turned off the heat and let it settle for a couple days and then run it. Never checked the abv, do that when I run it.

Today is raining so I’m not working outside. So that means, time to run the still!

Just using the small still(57L) because I only have the 20L of mud pie to run.
Oh, I’m also redestilling about 13-14L of neutral because the wife got a hangover for the first time in 20+ years. Her friends said “well you were quite full, no wonder you have a hangover” but she was “nope, Jim’s homemade stuff won’t give a hangover because of his cuts, he must of messed up and got greedy”
So instead of arguing, I’m redoing it. Nobody else got a hangover....jus’ sayin’.

Oh, forgot to mention, it went from 1.090 down to .992!
Smells like a dry wine with that tangy nose.
Should be a solid 12% or so.

Here’s what I got. Did a strip run then added that and water to run the spirit run.
Started at 75% or a touch higher and stopped at 25%.

So far, smell and taste test was....nothing.
It was just another sugar wash. :?

You got no flavour with a pot still?

Could be the best wash ever?
