Oh hell, I forgot that when it just comes up with the 4 listings for realmccoy down at the bottom it says some of the findings are hidden or something like that and you have to click the thing to unhide the other entries. I hope that's the problem cause I just did a whole new search and it worked again.

Edit: This is the message displayed under the search results:

In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the ones already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.

tell me i'm right or wrong on this. going off the posts here, there's three guys involved in this

paul cavalloro
Jack/rob mccoy/Rob Strasburg(not sure if it's same person)
mike

between them they are involved with at least these sites

www.stilldrinkin.com
www.e85machines.com
www.realmccoymoonshinestills.com
http://professionalethanol.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

paul cavallaro is advertising the same stills as biofuel stills at http://www.nuenergy.org/iw/2005/cavalloro2005.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

This website (http://ca.prweb.com/releases/2005/4/prweb227549.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow)introduces him as "Michigan Ditch Digger Finds a Way For All to Fight Rising Gas Prices" obviously the man has no engineering or biofuel background at all.

looking at the websites, you would have to be insane to buy a still off them. with such crackers as:-

"Warning-Important!! Stainless Steal Stills are NOT GOOD for whiskey, Rum, Vodka. Your Dissolute Comes Out Cloudy!"

"Materials: All Stills are built with 100% food grade Sliver Solder. And 100% pure Copper, 100% Pure Stainless Steel where possible!"

"YES: WE USE ONLY FOOD GRADE SOLDER!"
"Killer Deals From Still Drinkin! (is that not enough to worry you!!!!!!)"

" All Turbo Stomper Stills Give you 100% Natural Flavor! The Only Ones in the World that do this"

Looking at the pictures of the stills, the quality is not good at all (the stills that is not the hottie modelling them  . the colums look shabby, the materials look cheap and tacky and, those cast flanges will not last too long. for the prices they charge, you would expect a lot better

i'm no expert but to buy a still off a website that can't even spell distillate has to be a bad move. i understand that not everyone had the benefit of this forum's knowledge before the event. it's a shame that people can do such a shabby job of a potentially great business (just look how many people bought them of this forum alone). i'd even go as for as saying they are incapable of tying their shoelaces never mind running a business. mr cavalloro should stick to digging trenches. also, hearing of one user claiming they threatened violence is most disturbing. their tilted head stills to my knowledge, would produce little more reflux than a normal pot still and the "turbo thumper box" is not a new idea and will not fulfill it's claims of greatness.
the lousy websites, customer service, claims and promises as well as their attitude to their customers is a disgrace and they should be shut down immediatly. in the uk we have the office of fair trading. these guys have the power to control and shut down rogue traders such as these. do you guys in the us have a similar sort of thing? maybe a group of customers need to meet up and fix up a visit to these guys and have it out face to face with these guys

Don't know about the state these bums are in or if it's just in my state, but if you come onto my property or business and remotely threaten any violence I can kill you on the spot no questions asked and especially if it's multiple persons. Might be a little barbaric and I know a bunch of folks gonna say I don't know what I'm talking about probly but it's a fairly new law that even includes your vehicle, so if I pull up to a red light and some vagrant jumps in my vehicle, he better be wearing body armor and a steel pot on his head.

As far as a State ran protection agency, yeah we've got em but the problem is the nature of what's being sold and who's buying being brought to public light. More light not being the object here to our hobby, it's better to handle things in a different way.

I placed a warning on my front page. http://www.milehidistilling.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow We receive about 300 hits a day from people looking for distilling supplies and about 60% are new customers. I hope people will look around on homedistiller.org for information on a company before buying a distiller. I’m sick of these assholes giving small companies like mine a bad name.

Now showing up on most search engines for me (still no google). However, altvista, yahoo, lycos, etc are showing this thread, AND it is showing up as top selection.

Good, hopefully we have shut down the search engine giving them 'sucker' customers.

Warning, Double post coming.... I hate double posters...

UJ has installed to GoogleBot Mod to this forum. This allows the spiders, crawlers and bots to be recognized as a seperate entity in the Whos Who. This also directs all of the above to a single Welcome thread. So, If one person searches for a thread one day, and onother the next (after Googlebot) the results will not bee the same, since the spiders are no longer spidering. Also, if you have not cleared your cache since the mod, your google will use it for future searches, thus affecting future searches.

This is just another one of the many domain names they have scarfed up... There was a long list earlier in this thread... They're cranking out sites like they're porn-churners...

I love the added touch of $12.95 per recipe... What a deal...!!! Where's my credit card...??? I think they've hit a new low...

In my neck of the woods that picture would be frowned upon just about as much as kiddie porn... They'd be out to find the person responsible for that photo so they could form witch hunt... Definitely a lapse in judgment there...

I didn't purchase a still from this feller, but I ordered some cork gasket material from him. It took a week are so to get it, but it was excellant quailty. He actually sent me a larger piece than I paid for. He also answer my e-mail in a orderly fashion. He also offered to cut my gaskets to the correct size for me, and offered to purchase the material locally and ship it to me if his supply shipment was late. The last time I was on the site he had quit taking order due to a large backlog. Seemed like a rather nice feller. He even sent me some distilling info.

The same here mate, that picture is in poor taste.

Shows their fabrication quality (or lack of). Thanks, hile-hi for joining in on this crusade against these scam artist(s). Being a seller of quality products, dirt bag's like these, certainly put a black eye into the way others (and of course the power) view what you are doing. We must make SURE we distance ourselves from people like this, and point LOUDLY to new/uninformed consumers who are likely to be duped by their terrible quality.

I'm glad this thread exists. I was actually thinking about buying one before and stilldrinkin.com was a site I was looking at. Something didn't sit right with me about them though. Never read nothing bad, just had that feeling. Then I started reading this site a little while after and saw this thread.

It makes me feel good that someone or in this case a group of someones is out there watching over new people who may be interested in distilling.

I bought a much nicer stainless stock pot to attach the head and ran 2 runs of box wine through it to clean it out. After the second run the copper mesh that came with the still turned black and came out in small pieces/powder. I wanted to run it like a pot still anyway so I wasn't too upset about the "copper mesh". It has been working alright as a pot still I guess. I don't really have any reference with which to compare.

I think I will just build my own at this point. It would have been cheaper in the long run, and probably will be a better design.

PS UJSM is great. :D

I wouldn't think any boxed wine would deteriorate copper mesh in two runs... Sounds like it was copper coated mesh rather than pure copper mesh...

LOL!! If you think declaring what "nice fellers" these scam artists are (in just your second post here) is gonna convince anyone, you're even dumber than the 8-year-olds who design their crummy website/s.

Perhaps you and all the other stillthievin' stooges should go drink a pint or two of your 'world-class desolate' and we'll be forever rid of your fumbling transparent attempts at self-promotion.

People who don't have a better moral compass than that should be steered away from. It would and has thrown up red flags every where for me and I'd kind of like to get my hands on whoever thought that was a good idea. I'd like to try and give em shaken idiot syndrome, if they don't already have a bad case of it. :D

I called before ordering and "Jim" was as nice as could be. We talked a couple of times and I decided to order on May 25th. Unfortunately I used a debit card. "Jim' gave me his cell # and told me it would be about a month. I said ok and ordered thru paypal. I talked to him about once a week checking for progress. Once (also before finding and reading about it on this forum) he too told me his wife had the big C and he had to go to the hospital and would be unreachable for a day or two. I even voiced concernns about what I later read on this site. He said that 2 people got their stills about a week late and if I was a stickler for time, he'd make no promises and refund me right then if I wanted. I said no, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. MISTAKE! I spoke with him July 3rd and he said it was being shipped either late that afternoon or Saturday morning due to the 4th of July falling the next day. Since then, No picking up of phone, No answering emails, No return calls, and NO STILL! I call every few hours (and being a firefighter who works 24 hours I mean EVERY few hours!) and cannot get a response. I later found out that after the 4th of July line, I was out 45 days from Paypal order. No chance of getting my money back. I just ordered from NorCal Shine. Hopefully a better experience!

Donnybrook, is your debit card a visa or mastercard debit card or just a bank card? If it's a visa or M/C debit card it's extended the same fraud benefits as a regular credit card now. All you would have to do is call Visa or M/C and tell them that you made a purchase using your card and your experience with Jim, you don't have to tell them what you ordered.
