When do i know when my mash is done making alcohol when im distilling it.

dont quite understand the question,,the mash dont make alcohol..
the mash makes sugars,,the yeast make alcohol..the still refines or removes this alcohol.

I meant how do i know that the still is done getting the alcohol out of the mash? Idk if thats any better sorry

If you don't have an alcometer or a thermometer,,,,,,you should collect in small jars. If ya put the likker to your lips and ya can't feel any of that familiar alcohol sting on your lips,,,then yer likely done.
Ya gotta collect in small jars any way so you can learn to make your cuts.

The old fashioned simple way is going by smell, taste, and feel... That's how they did it before the invention of fancy instruments...

a hydrometer/ the head temperature/the taste/the bead/throwing on the hot still..
