on the fly preheater

Post by mercmar »

so I had a couple of runs to do in a row. most of my wash was at 74F. usually I would dump the backset in my dump pit but I was firing on all cylinders and decided to make a quick preheated. I gravity fed from my boiler the hot backset into a pot which had a 1/2 npt connection down to my lil chugger pump out to a cooling coil for beer brewing which was in the new wash. heated 10 gallons up to 100 f and saved some propane. the backset was cool enough to just run into the slop sink. This was birdwatchers (ie pink wash)

If I had a more permanent space I would rig up a more organized system. damn kids.
