B amylase?

Post by drinkin_myway »

I just finished the sac run on my new hardware. 3L of 180 proof from 5 gal sugar wash. Now Im gonna mix up some Birdwatchers sugar wash. I have the recipe. I know I don't need A amylase cause there is no starch involved. Yeast nutrients are provided by the tomato paste. Do I need B amylase, Beano, of anything to help break down the sugars? Using cane sugar which I remember being sucrose, a disaccharide. Does it need to be broken down even more? I used cane sugar for the wash in my sac run, but used turbo yeast which I think has everything needed in it. I won't use turbo in my next batch.

Just follow the Tried & True recipe. No other stuff is needed. Oh, you may add a little calcium carbonate once the ferment has started. Otherwise, just stick to the recipe.
