Low wines and feints

Post by Sonofodin »

Hi guys
So am stripping some tpw. I have some feints from previous tpw and ujssm. Would it be OK to add those feints to my next strip of tpw low wines for a later spirit run? Aiming for neutral, will be running through 5 plate reflux. As always thanks for help and support.

Sure. Do it. Do you “strip” with the flute? Or, do you use a potstill? Regardless, adding feints to a wash for stripping will recycle the feints somewhat, especially if you’re refluxing the following spirit run.

I strip with plates in situ but no dephleg. I am certainly gonna run reflux when it comes to spirit run, the way I looked at it was that any alcohol going in even if its corn feints or tpw feints will be stripped of any flavours anyway when it comes to reflux. Like you say, just recycled alcohol really.
