adding a new part to my setup - cleaning or sacrificial run again?

Post by Evil_Dark »

I'm adding my reflux section that I've built. It's basically a jacketed stainless pipe...
Can I clean it with some of the foreshots that I have on hand, or should I run a sacrificial run again?

Same question for stainless packing that I have...
Thanks

You mean, “run a sacrificial run” using foreshots collected from a previous run, right? That’ll work.

But, I’d do a steam run and a 50/50 vinegar run too, ahead of the sac alcohol run.

Well I was more askig about manually cleaning with foreshots collected liquid, or running a sacrificial run (with whatever alcool I want to scrap, like bad runs or heads or foreshots...)

I've read that the packing won't need a full vinegar/sacrificial run, but I'm not sure. Also, I was'nt too scared about adding a 12in stainless pipe without making a full sacrificial run, as the pipe is clean... I can let it soak into some heads overnight, It should come out clean!

I believe my answer to your question was VERY CONCISE. If you don’t like the answer….get over it!
