Full Frontals
On an aquarium site that I am a member of, we often have a "full frontal" thread. Its just where people take a snap of the equipment they are currently using. On the aquarium site of course, it was just a front shot of their tanks. I dont know if it will take off here but as we all like still porn I thought I would give it a go. It invites questions and conversation about different set ups and often gives a nice place to just admire some home made set ups...
So........ SHOW US A FULL FRONTAL!

Ok here's my Blockhead.
It is the very things that we think we know, that keep us from learning what we should know.
Valved Reflux, 3"x54" Bok 'mini', 2 liebig based pots and the 'Blockhead' 60K btu propane heat

Hard to compete here......... Heres my LM reflux, all stainless 3" collumn packed with copper scrubbers and about 25' of 1/4" copper coil in the head. 5200w 220v heater, fully electric control. Still needs work, never satisfied.
by the way, excuse the messy garage. Cheers MK

Re: Full Frontals
olddog I'm lovin' that Frankenstill / Frankenthumper.
Re: Full Frontals
Thanks Bill, The concept was designed that way because I have a pretty small workshop, and did not have the room to store stripped runs while waiting to do a spirit run, I wanted something which incorporated the thumper and column onto one unit, being compact and easy to store. I produces spirit starting at 85ABV (forshots) and I usually run it down to 50ABV before going into tails. The product is usually super smooth while still retaining a good flavour. I had thought of incorporating another thumper, making it a doublethumper unit, but that is still in the thought stage.

Re: Full Frontals
Nope, Polished on original build, given a coat of copper laquer, and just washed down with clear water after each distillation.

Re: Full Frontals
Hi adama_bill,
I bought the copper ball from http://www.necopperworks.com/copperballs.html. The nice thing about it is that it's strong, with a wall thickness that's the same as copper DWV pipe. The only drawback is that I had to import it as I live outside of the USA. Earlier I bought a 6 inch copper float from another company but the wall thickness was so thin that it bent easily so it's now in my scrap pile.

Any rememberance of approximately how much the postage charge was?

Yes, the ball thickness is .043. I live in Central America so the shipping/importation wasn't that expensive (I can't remember exactly how much). If you could find someone locally who can spin copper that might cut down on your costs.
