This will be a 4 plate Flute, all inside components removable so I can run it bare as a plain pot also. Maximum looks and function. Only a few items have arrived. Should get deliveries all this and next week. Should be fun!!

The beginning of the end  , it will be fun to make mate  . You don't need to worry about removing internals to run as a pot, just don't use the deflag. What plates you doing?, what sort of deflag, pc?. Good luck.

For the most part I'm coping NChooch. I'm using the brass EZ flanges. Going to try and make each plate area removable. Yes, extra flanges = more money. I thin all the brass and stainless tri cloves will look real nice. Deflagmenter I was thinking 5 inch shotgun. I know NC's is like 4.75. Will a quarter inch really hurt? Guess I'll find out

Sounds like a.plan  . Should look good with the brass. Mines modular, good for trying new plates and configurations. 1/4" won't hurt. My last deflag I did is 4" on 4" column, I like it!.

Without the dephlag to control reflux you will have a plated pot still. Better rethink.

Can you not make a shotgun deflag 5" in length?

I think what they are saying is you don't call a deflag a shotgun. If it is 5 inches then it is a deflag. A shotgun is around 20 inches and cools vapors for you to get liquid out of your still. A delflag is same thing only shorter and dumps liquid back in the direction it was coming from (back down your column).

Sure Dave no problem. I misread your post

BTW, I have a 3 inch flute as well. My dephlag is only 6 inches long.
Sorry for the confusion.

I do not have a flute but want one also. I have a long list of wants and its on the top but it is last. I will probly never have one. I can say where i would order my stuff from but it would not be a good idea. If I were to get what I want I would order the Tees and the plates and bubles caps or sieve plates without problem. Make the condencers (deflag and shotgun) or have them made locally. I like stainless. Lots here would say copper. I would use copper copper scrubees inside above deflag. JMHO. You know what they say about opinions. If you want more you can ask or PM. Which ever is good for you.

Don't get to excited and do or buy. Research, research!

Buy an adjustable circle cutter. It will make cutting the plates a dream. No fidling about trying to make the plates perfect with a file. 20 bucks will save countless hours of frustration.
