Milk can
Traded some copper pipe to DD awhile back for an older milk can. I plan on putting my boka head on it and running in potstill mode for small batch. First thing to try is odins easy gin. Gotta love this hobby.

That looks like a good idea.

Re: Milk can
Are you planning on making it taller or keeping it that size?

I plan on using it at that height with the valve wide open in pot still mode. I made my boka in sections so I can customize it.

Modular is the way to go. Perfect
Re: Milk can
Do you have any info on that clamp of yours?
I just picked one of those milk cans two weeks ago and had a few ideas on ow to seal the top, but that clamp seems like a great solution.

Flour paste between cap and can. Cleaning now with vinegar. Everything seems to seal up well.

Re: Milk can
That is really slick, copperlover. It reminded me that a few years ago when I first started thinking about distilling, I thought the milk can would be the perfect boiler. The ones I looked at had a friction fit cap, or lid, that just fit right into the top of the can, easy. I'm accumulating ideas and research right now for doing a boka, and I might be stealing your ideas for both the milk can, and the modular design. Very nice, thanks for posting!
Here is the one I'm looking at. They're pricey, but I like being able to take the lid off to clean it easily:
(F) Narrow-Mouth Type 304 Stainless Steel with Handles and Cover—Also known as milk cans, these have a 13-ga. bottom ring for extra support. Cover has a tight friction fit and comes with two 7/16" dia. holes for attaching a tag. Satin finish. 10 Gallon capacity.

Shouting and shooting, I can't let them catch me...

Re: Milk can
I am currently looking at one just like that on craigslist. I was wondering how big they are. 10 gallons is a nice size. I ran some of odin's easy gin today after the cleaning runs. It worked very well. Easy to set up and break down. And easy to clean. It's all packed away again.
Re: Milk can
I like your copper work on that. Pretty cool.
