Build a keg still.

+1.

A repurposed 1/2 barrel keg is ideal.

General rule is 2/3 fill the boiler to allow 1/3 head space .
10gal in a 15.5gal keg perfectly fits the bill .

I think it's an overpriced pot still without a boiler.

You can build it yourself much cheaper.

Product condenser is too short too. The operational throughput will be limited by the “dwell time” in the vapor tube. In other words, the margin of settings will be narrow for the vapor production to avoid “huffing” or “puffing”, or both.

The riser is nice, but the thermometer in it is useless...wasted money. You don’t need a thermometer in a potstill at all.

With that kind of cash, I would build an electric keg boiler and a 2" CCVM and 2×20" shotgun condenser, and a nice power controller, and still have money left over for a few bags of grain and a nice 5 gallon cask...

Edit to ask what country are you located in?

Thats the link to the boiler I have above. I'm very happy with it.
For a few hundred bucks, some soldering skill, and some reading here, you can build a really nice copper CCVM for a total cost of about $650 (boiler included). Add an electric set up and you're still under a grand.
Here is my CCVM set up as a pot still during a water/vinegar cleaning run.

By the way, that ugly ass logo on the boiler, it buffs off in about 10 minutes with a polishing wheel and some metal polish.

Did you make your column also?

What type of electric setup do you recommend.

Yes. I started out with one of their "dual purpose" 2 inch columns on that boiler. Then I built the still above using information I found here.

Sorry, didn't answer both questions. I cant speak to an electric set up as I am running on gas.
I will also add that the dual purpose stills they sell are not that great of a solution. Steer clear. They're the reason I built my CCVM.

You can build a really nice 15.5 keg pot still with 15.5 keg thumper and a liebig condenser and run on propane for way less than 1500. Gives you more money to spend on fermenter, grain, etc...
Part of the fun for me (for the last couple stills I assembled) was seeing how cheap I could do it. And you dont have to be a master craftsman to assemble the parts. All kinds of tutorials on HD that will help you too.
Type of still is totally up to you. You are the only one you have to please. Just build it safe and run it safe. Oh, and have fun.
