New thumper/steam set up

Post by Southern jeeper »

So I was down at my local distillery grabbing a drink and I saw their stack of 15 gallon barrels and it got me thinking, why not build a thumper that I could also run as a steam rig with my column. So about like 6 months later I finally got around to actually building it. It powered by my 12 electric pot plumbed to the barrel with 1 in copper necked down to 3/4 at the barrel. I then took one of those threaded 2in tri clamp flanges that folks use for brew pots and threaded it in to the top of the barrel. Currently running my cleaning run and found one leak in my soldering but got it plugged up with some paste for now other than that she’s working great.

That milk can wins the prize for the most patina I've ever seen on a SS boiler.

Hahaha yeah the propane burner days took a toll on it but the inside is still nice and clean.
