question about VM still
so im looking about building a 2" VM still and im not sure of the take off sizing for the line to the cond. I was thinking if i simply go with a 1/2 copper line off of the 2" pipe and then straight to the cond. is that size ok. only reason i ask is i have some available.

Re: question about VM still
I would not go smaller than 3/4". It will really choke your takeoff rate.

Re: question about VM still
that really depends on the design of the still really. you said it's a VM still but the designs for a VM still are varied.
If it's designed as I think you've designed it, then 1/2" should be fine. But in order to really answer your question with any kind of certainty, you need to show us how your rig is designed.

Re: question about VM still
For a 2" column VM I would go with at least a 1" takeoff branch. After the turn down it can be reduced to 1/2" at the condenser made with 1/2".
