I don't know how well it works yet as I haven't run it, but that's the idea.

Without taking out the reflux condenser and capping the column, the most the takeoff ration can be is 1:1 theoretically.

Would you have to remove the condenser or just shut it down?
Where there is no physical barrier to the vapors entering the product condenser couldn't the top of the column be capped in either mode, IE.pot mode or reflux? there should not be any pressure build up no matter where the condenser is.
just brainstorming :econfused:
How far along on your build are you?

I have stalled in my build, couldn't get the sight glass to braze couldn't clean it had to tig it. blew a hole in it. filled the hole but the deformation inside the column wont let my plates slide in anymore. gonna grind out the glob of copper. then just wait till I get some better silver solder. might take a pay check or two. need a couple of breathes anyways but looking forward to trying to get my column done, than a csst head. going to give this a shot :) good luck on your build  rooting for ya :!:

Bumping thread for any updates?
I am getting ready to set up a larger boiler (100L) with electric heating with a 4” hybrid build, so starting to research again.
Did this still ever get finished?
Has anyone else done a plated CCVM?
Cheers

This is a link to my proposed build:

I have decided to go with the CCVM instead of the traditional CM flute build.

This thread may help you too:
viewtopic.php?f=17&t=73475
In it I was asking around about the viability of a CCVM head above plates, or plates and packing both.

Hope this helps you find what your looking for.

The whole shebang is still sitting i my basement, waiting to be finished.

I got stuck on the electric controller and shelved it.

I haven't worked on the plates for a while, went off on a tangent and put together a 3' single bubble cap for under my packed column :o .
Then I went way off course and spent the better part of 6 months building a BOKA style head for under the rc section  .
Somewhere on here I had a disscussion with someone about building a retractable upper plate, with a bypassable lower plate.
Just finished that last week. don't have a clue if it will work or not, but the build was deffinately a fun challenge :esurprised: !
Plates are still on the agenda but off a ways :?

Wooday: hopefully you get everything figured out and back on track
Good luck

I run my flute with CCVM. When I started the build I knew I would not do a dephlag. Idea was to do a coil in CM. But I used my CCVM columns coil for a few runs. Now it is the way I run.
My first flute
My press
My twins
My controller
My wife tells me I fell from heaven covered in white. Why did they let me fall?
