Going for broke on a Boka.
I'm not sure how to bend the spill lip on the bottom plate.
Was wondering what ya'll thought of a circuit that allows condensate to be piped to center AND serve as a take off? Any theories pro or con are appreciated.
Do you think a single [lower] plate alone is possible?

Use the HD google search function with word like "LM reflux return" or "LM external return".

Re: LM recirc tube to center condensate?
Thanks. I poked around for the past few weeks on the hd search and this thread. Just wanted theory and opinions if it's gonna work before commiting to it.
Sort of a Boka with a Nixon/ Stone type return.

If you have a triclamp fitting directly below the slant plates, bending the spill lip should be as simple as reaching in with a pair of pliers and pointing it down.
Better, since you're including a sight glass directly below, you can confirm and adjust the lip to ensure the reflux stream is centered.
A reflux return tube would work but you're adding unnecessary complexity to your build.

Re: LM recirc tube to center condensate?
An extern return has two advantages:
-It keeps the cold reflux away from the thermometer, so your measurement is better.
-The pool is smaller. This means less smearing and (more important IMO) the abv reacts faster on valve settings changes.

Re: LM recirc tube to center condensate?
The pool might be smaller, but that would depend on the plumbing.
In my experience, the soft copper tubing (3/8" or whatever) is very prone to being bent or twisted accidentally. Annoying to rebuild, so the less the better IMHO.

If you move the valve from the take off to between the takeoff and the column return you could have a reverse lm. The outlet would need to be moved up slightly as well. It's one design that I have always wanted to try.

Thank you guys.
Der Wo; I found alot once you set me right on the terminology.
Expat; you're right, I was overthinking it.
I tend to do that when I'm contemplating and watching burbon melt ice in a tumbler

Here is one crazy idea....
(Actually a reverse liquid management)
(Takeoff is on left, level in reservoir can be adjusted)
