I have a couple stainless chuggers for my home brew system. They definitely will not pump solids like mash, being they're Mag drives.
If I'm making a single malt I'll use the false bottom, recirculate and sparge like I'm making beer. But if I'm using sticky gummy stuff like corn I'll use a big bag (BIAB) at 2 quarts per LB., drain and squeeze the hell out of it.
