New Aqueon Heater Design

Post by Reverend Newer »

Being wintertime I had to break out the water heaters again...

I have purchased loads of submersible heaters over the years and ended up using the glass Aqueon brand mostly though they were quite fragile with rubber ends and also the glass housing was always a weak point in my opinion. Few months ago I purchased the Pro Adjustable heaters from Aqueon and though they are pricey I am very impressed. They can keep even big 55 gallon fermentors around 88 degrees with just a blanket wrapped around the outside in a cold room.

Here are some specs...

The Aqueon Pro Heaters are built with a durable, non-corrosive shell for strength and even heat distribution. They have electronic thermostats for accurate temperature settings and safety. LED power indicator light turns red when unit is heating and green when set at the selected temperature.

50 Watts

Shatterproof and nearly indestructible
Adjustable heat setting 68 to 88°F, accurate to +/- 1°
Precision calibrated
Auto Shut-off
LED light is always on: red when heating, green when not heating

Warranty
Limited Lifetime

3.2" x 1.3" x 10"

Correction: I myself use the 250 watt version for a 55 gallon fermenter, the specs above were for a 50 watt heater which would be good for I suppose a 10 gallon fermenter.

Sorry didn't wanna confuse anyone.

I use this brand/style heater in my 32 gallon fermenters. They hang through the lid to mid point level. I love them. Spot on temp control and reliable.
