Ferrules and tri clamp adapters

Post by BoisBlancBoy »

Hey guys I’ve been away from the hobby close to a couple years. Anyway I want to install a 6” ferrule into my keg and then use an adapter to go from that ferrule to a 3” column but I’m having a hard time finding the parts. Seems like the websites I used to browse for these accessories have a smaller selection or I’m just behind with the changes in the hobby.

BBB,

Here’s a link to a 6” x 3” concentric Tri-clamp reducer. Considering individual parts (reducer + ferrules) the pre-built reducer is a great price.

Check it out.

Thank you. Wow wasn’t expecting that price but the problem with the concentric reducers is that I don’t have the room for the extra height.

Right now I had a standard keg opening, 3” column with the 3”x2” fitting that clamps to the keg and bottom of the column.

BoisBlancBoy, you inquired about an 'adapter' instead of a reducer. The end plate should work.

Thank you for the links and correct terminology. I’ve never been savvy with plumbing terms.

You could just get a 6" cap, cut a hole and weld a 3" ferrule to it. That's what I did years ago, but the prices on Tri-Clamp parts have come way down since then. The Glaciertanks.com link above has a reasonable price for that part so it's hard to beat.
