I'm here with questions. I understand the basics but like to dig into the various engineering challenges and round out my knowledge, maybe learn from the mistakes of others instead of learning the hard way.

Welcome to forum. You definitely can learn from others mistakes. The right and wrong way are documented well here. You just have to do your part and do some reading. Starting with the mandatory reading. Good luck
