Hello from Ca.

Post by spyc1 »

Please forgive my ignorance , I read a lot of posts on what yeast to use when making whiskey. I only thing I learned is NOT to use turbo yeast , is there a go to yeast when making corn mash whiskey? Thank you,

There are many opinions about different yeasts but you can't go wrong with good old bakers yeast, Red Star or Fleishmans both work fine. Oh And welcome to HD keep reading and learn, this hobby is all about learning, have fun.

Welcome to the forum. I personally use wine yeast because i like the esters they make and the temp range they have. In particular lalvin 71b-1122.
