New hand made 100% copper thumper

Post by MoonWhisky »

Hello everyone! My first post let me explain a little. I started out not having a clue about a year ago by using the basic 3 gallon SS pot with 3/8 10ft copper coil...
Now I have a 7.5 gallon SS pot with a copper 5" funnel (soldered to the lid) leading into 1" copper pipe going into a 100% 2.2 gallon copper thumper that I hand made. (I was using the 1/2 gallon mason jar before  ) leading into a 1/2" 26" long copper water jacket. I haven't ran the still with the thumper yet, I'm wait for my mash to finish (15lbs white sugar 1lbs brown sugar 64oz of corn syrup 2 B vitamins & a splash of lemon juice in 6 gallons). My question is now that I have a larger thumper will I have tothe run the broiler pot hotter to keep the thumper to temp? I normally run the still till both temps in the broiler and thumper synced out at 200 degrees (using the 1/2 mason jar). Should I keep the same logic or go with different approach. I'm guessing the proof will tell me everything but that's why I'm hear.. You guys know what's going on and I'm hear to learn. Thanks for ur time! From Illinois
