I am from barrie Ontario , yes we are the brunt of many jokes from Toronto if you know of us . Is kinda accurate.
My friends enjoy making a variety of distillates from the variety of sources from the surrounding country side .grains , apples , potatoes etc . My fav is corn / rye mash . My professor from York u is some where on this site somewhere but can't find him .

I read up on Barrie and it seems like a nice city. So no wise cracks from me.
Rye is an interesting and spicy drink I added to my stock a while back.

Anyways, welcome to HD!

On the plus side, being further away from the city means you'll have better access to grains/fruit you might want to use.

Do you work in Barrie or commute?
