Hello all,
From Ireland - homedistilling is illegal, but homebrewing is not, so we're half-way there.
I have tasted many homebrewered beers that walk all over most mainstream breweries.
The creativity and ingenuity I have seen from homebrewers is phenomenal, its a pity this same creativity is stifled by legislation
Very interested in process/equipment/recipe formulation so I will be in here kicking tyres.

Same legal issue over here in the States. Beer, no spirits.
Except, Missouri where I live allows distilling even though federally it's a no-no. Kind of like the marijuana laxity some states have.
And not only can homebrew be better than the commercial guys, likewise home distilling.
And "tyres" hurts my autocorrect.
Good luck with your adventure, kukimonster, and welcome to Home Distiller!

Welcome, I will be visiting Ireland in September. PM me if you have some must things to see or distilleries worth visiting.

hey Kukimonster
I bet you the creativity is not stifled by the law man, just not out in the open
What you aim to make?

Re: Howdy Hey!
Been brewing for several years, quickly went to all grain.
I know people in the micro trade (plus a few not!).
I can see the quick turnaround in sugar wash/molasses/liquid malt but I love the process side and the art of the mashing the wash.
I'm studying brewing and distilling too, though not sure how this will benefit me yet.
Thanks for the welcomes.
Looking forward to learning.
I'm mostly kicking tyres here so far but I'll jump in the conversation a necessary.
Any advice I might have might only be up to wash stage!
