Hello Folks

Post by Radiater »

Hello all. I am new to this "hobby" and am very interested in getting started the right way. I have a 20 gal copper still and 5 gal thumper & 5 gal snake. I am reading all I can. I want to start as soon as I can without messing anything up. Hope to learn what I can from others with experience.

Welcome to HD
If you haven't already do your vinegar cleaning and sacrificial run
Birdwatchers is a commonly used mash for a sacrificial run

You don't need to be approximate with yeast
Don't drink the stuff form your sacrificial run btw
If you bought the still make sure there are no rubber gaskets around the connection
A common place to find them is in the thumper apparently
If you put the still together a big thumbs up to you
Rye whisky rye whisky oh dont let me down
Gunna have me a drink then gambol around
Here's some fiddle music
