Hello from Idaho

Post by Leslie T »

Hi, We bought a house 6 years ago that has 4, 60 year old grape vines... we have tons of grapes. We also planted several fruit trees so we have been talking about getting a still and making brandy for some time now. This year was epic for our grapes! So many grapes... So I have three batches of natural wine brewing and plan on have at least 7 or 8 batches by the end of the season. So this year we bought an apple press for juicing and we bought an alembic still with an electric boiler. I know we have ALOT to learn.

Welcome aboard and looking forward to hearing about your brandy making experiences. What still did you buy? A few of the store bought stills are good but many of them are bad. We are all about safety here and some of the unsafe ones can be improved with a few simple mods.

You must be in the south west end of the state if you have grapes. I am on the south east end myself.

Belated WELCOME, Leslie T.
Use the HD Google Search (above right) and search "grapes" for lots of info.
Here's how you use it:
